Some points to note concerning your visit - arrive 20-30 minutes prior to your tour

Tours start assembling 10-15 minutes prior to the starting time, so arrive 20-30 minutes before your tour so you have time to park and go to the check-in desk. Dress warmly as you will be outside for about 45 minutes of touring after which you can visit the outdoor petting zoo and/or food cart. Then (or prior to your tour) you can go inside for the kids crafts and/or story time. Or participate in a group Christmas carol sing-along in our auditorium. Take a family photo at our photo booth to remember your evening. There is also an information booth concerning the church and our programs, including AWANA for the children, along with students, young adults, men’s, women’s and seniors groups. We have people willing and happy to pray with you! Just ask at the information booth.

Do I need to bring along my ticket information?

It is not necessary as you gave your name when you registered to get your tickets. Just give your name at the entrance booth just inside the carport doors and we will check you off on our list of registrants. You will receive a program. Then wait for your timed tour to be announced. Then you will make you way just outside the entrance into the staging area. You might grab a free cookie and hot chocolate while waiting!

What if I have tickets but can no longer come?

If this case, if you obtained 5 or more tickets please email office@sayrewoods.org using the same email address you previously used for ticketing and we will free up those tickets.

Go ahead and re-ticket for another available timeslot.

How do I know if the tours are canceled due to weather for that day?

Closure decision will be made by 3pm and announced on our home page at sayrewoods.org. A canceled/still on message will be shown. There are no rain dates. Try to reserve a timeslot on one of the remaining evenings if this is prior to Sunday. A light snow/rain and we are probably still on. Cold does not stop us!

How strenuous is the walking and are there mobility options?

The walking tour is flat and wraps around our building. About 1/4 mile total distance. We have some chairs set up at some scenes along the way where you can rest for a few minutes during the presentation for that scene.

There is a ramp from the parking area into our main (carport) entrance suitable for stroller and wheelchair use.

The tours that start on an hour (6, 7, 8 and 5 on the weekend) have two 6-passenger golf carts available. You can be picked up in the handicap parking area on the left-front side of our parking lot as your enter. A parking attendant will show you where to park and arrange for the pickup.

Sorry no dogs or pets are allowed

We have live animals on some of the scenes and need to avoid any disturbances to the program.

Can I make an offering towards support of this event?

We do accept cash or non-expired canned or dried goods in support of our food bin ministry which serves a couple of dozen families monthly.

Can I take pictures of the scenes and characters?

Yes, but please turn off your flash so as to not disturb the presentations. There is also a photo booth you can visit.

What food is available?

We have a small menu of hot dogs, chips, pretzels, soda, water. All food is priced very reasonably: hot dogs are $2 each while other items are $1 each. View the food cart area next to the petting zoo at the end of your tour.

All guests can also get a free cookie and hot chocolate at our entry area next to the kids crafts.

Why was the prior Christmas drive-thru replaced?

After doing the drive-through approach for 40 years our leadership decided it was time for a refresh. All new scenes and scripts. More opportunities for interaction outside of the cars. Added the petting zoo and food cart. With our ticketing system you can choose exactly when to attend and this AVOIDS WAITING, which in the past might have been even one or two hours (although people still said it was worth the wait).

We hope you like our new walking tour! Feel free to give us your feedback at the information booth that evening, or later send an email to office@sayrewoods.org.

We wish you and your family a very MERRY CHRISTMAS. Now you have little better understanding of the beginnings of this blessed time of the year when our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ came from Heaven to be born among us.

I have another question

Please send an email to office@sayrewoods.org. It will be answered as soon as possible during business hours Tue 10-3 pm, Wed 10-5 pm, Thu 10-3 pm and Fri 10-1 pm.

What is the Gospel message (given in scene 10)

Feel like something is missing in your life? God has designed us for Him to have a place in our hearts and lives. Accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior can seem like a big step, but it is the most important thing you can do in your entire life! Acknowledge you have done wrong things (we all have – Romans 5:8). If you are sorry for these sins, tell God you believe He sent His Son Jesus to die for the forgiveness of sins (John 1:12), and that you want to be with Him in Heaven one day (Romans 10:9). Your life may still have problems but you will have an inner peace and joy knowing that your ultimate fate is settled.
