At Sayre Woods Bible Church we believe our purpose is to glorify God through worship, evangelism, teaching and fellowship in obedience and service to Christ according to the Word of God.
With this purpose in view, we have adopted five strategic statements that keep us focused and enable us to fulfill our purpose:
- Since every believer is to magnify the Lord, we must exalt Christ in worship.
- Since every believer is a missionary, we must evangelize the world.
- Since every believer needs maturity, we must edify each other.
- Since every believer is a member of Christ’s family, we must encourage one another.
- Since every believer is a minister, we must equip for service.
Our foundational doctrinal beliefs are as follows:
- The Bible is God’s written Word; therefore all sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments are divinely and totally inspired. The Bible is the believer’s authority in both faith and practice.
- Jesus Christ is God in the flesh and therefore He is to be worshipped and served.
- Jesus Christ is the only Savior, sent from God the Father. Christ died for our sins, rose physically from the dead, and will likewise physically return to earth to reign.
- Man can be forgiven for his sins and given eternal life in only one way: personal faith in the Savior, Jesus Christ.
